Positive Industry Outlook Reflected at ITB Berlin 2025

ITB Berlin 2025 is poised to set new benchmarks in global tourism, with 95% of its display area booked and exhibitors from 165 countries. The trade show highlights the industry’s resurgence, with strong demand in key segments like cruises, travel technology, and emerging destinations across Southern Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The pioneering ITB Innovators platform, which was launched in 2023 and this year enters its third round, puts the innovations, new products and services of exhibitors centre stage at the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show, which will take place from 4 to 6 March 2025 on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

Technology and Innovation Take Center Stage

The travel technology sector is witnessing unprecedented growth, expanding across six halls (5.1, 6.1, 7.1c, 8.1, 9, 10.1) with a new dedicated area in Hall 4.1. Over 40 countries are participating, showcasing AI-driven solutions, automation tools, and cutting-edge digital transformation products. AI automation, home bots, and innovative software from companies like Aphy, aicallio, and Casablanca AI will be key attractions. Payment solutions from Visa and Stripe make their ITB Berlin debut, signalling a major shift towards seamless digital transactions. The Housekeeping segment introduces new trends with providers such as Sweeply and Flexkeeping.

Booking platforms, hotel solutions, and mobility services are well represented in Hall 9, featuring major international players like tbo.com, Mews System, HolidayCheck, PAYBACK, Agoda, Mastercard, Accor Hotels, and Best Western. The hall also welcomes mobility service providers Flex To Go, SunnyCars, and Flexrent.

Cruise Industry Booms with Strong Representation

The cruise sector continues to expand, with Hall 25 fully booked by top industry players. AIDA joins the exhibition for the first time alongside Carnival Corporation, Princess Cruises, Costa Cruises, P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean, MSC, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Hurtigruten, and Disney. Newcomers such as Arosa Cruises, Falk Travel, and Swiss Group International highlight the industry’s growth and diversification.

Sustainability and Responsible Tourism in Focus

Sustainability remains a key theme, with 80 exhibitors participating in the Responsible Tourism segment. Organizations like Travelife, atmosfair, and Myclimate lead discussions on sustainable travel practices. The Adventure Travel section in Hall 4.1 features 50 exhibitors from 20 countries, promoting eco-friendly and immersive travel experiences. The Comoros, Palau, and Tonga make their presence felt with dedicated exhibits.

New Trends in Business and MICE Tourism

The ITB MICE Hub, located in Hall 10.2, serves as a platform for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions, featuring key exhibitors such as Asia DMC, MPI, Aida Cruises, and VDVO. The Home of Business Travel and the VDR return, emphasizing corporate travel trends. The new ITB Creator Base in Hall 10.2 offers a hub for accredited travel bloggers, content creators, and influencers, fostering networking and collaboration.

Expanding Regional and Global Participation

Key travel destinations worldwide are strengthening their presence. The Asia Hall (Hall 26) is fully booked, with Vietnam, China, Mongolia, and Thailand expanding their footprints. The Middle East sees strong participation, with Saudi Arabia leading in Hall 4.2 and Oman, Qatar, and the UAE reinforcing their displays. Africa’s representation grows with South Africa, Mauritius, Namibia, Ethiopia, and Mozambique showcasing their tourism potential.

Europe maintains a strong presence with expanded stands from Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, Poland, and Hungary. Latin America sees robust growth, with Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico increasing their display areas.
