In a strategic move aimed at enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency, Qatar Airways has announced its transition from Dabolim Airport (GOI) in South Goa to the newly inaugurated Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa, India, effective 20th June 2024.
The shift will mark the cessation of Qatar Airways’ operations at Dabolim Airport on 20th June 2024. The last departure from Hamad International Airport (DOH) to GOI is scheduled for 19th June 2024, with the final departure from GOI to DOH slated for 20th June 2024.
The decision comes as part of Qatar Airways’ commitment to providing superior services to its passengers, with the new airport promising an enhanced travel experience. Situated in the North Goa district, Manohar International Airport is set to cater to a plethora of airlines, including strategic partners IndiGo and Oman Air.
The modern infrastructure of the Manohar International Airport, coupled with its proximity to hotels and public transportation, is expected to elevate the overall passenger experience. This move underscores Qatar Airways’ dedication to offering seamless connectivity to its network of over 170 destinations worldwide.
Since commencing operations in Goa in 2009, Qatar Airways has played a pivotal role in fostering strong ties between Doha and Goa. The transition to Manohar International Airport represents a significant milestone in this enduring partnership, promising travellers a more efficient and enjoyable airport experience.
Designed to reflect the vibrant local culture, Manohar International Airport boasts a blend of contemporary and Goan architecture. Its cargo facilities, featuring 25,000 metric tonnes of temperature-controlled handling capacity, position the airport as a potential export hub in the region.
Currently, Qatar Airways operates flights to 13 destinations across India, including Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Thiruvananthapuram.
