In a decisive election held for the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) leadership for the 2025–2027 term, Mr. Ravi Gosain has emerged as the new President. The elections, conducted at The Hotel Ashok in New Delhi on May 10, 2025, saw a spirited contest between two prominent factions—Team #StrongerTogether led by Gosain, and Team Change Makers headed by Mr. Amaresh Tiwari. Gosain’s panel secured a clear victory, as confirmed by the returning officer during the announcement.

Mr. Gosain, Managing Director of Erco Travels, New Delhi, succeeds Mr. Rajiv Mehra and has pledged to usher in a new era marked by transparency, collaboration, and industry-wide empowerment. Coinciding with the India–Pakistan ceasefire announcement on the same day, the leadership change comes at a time of renewed hope for both inbound and domestic tourism in India.

The new executive team includes: Mr. Rajnish Kaistha as Senior Vice President; Mr. Sanjay Razdan as Vice President; Mr. Sunil Mishra as Honorary Secretary; Mr. Deepak Kumar Bhatnagar as Honorary Treasurer, and Mr. Viney Tyagi as Honorary Joint Secretary

Elected Executive Committee members from the Active category are Mr. Harish Mathur, Mr. Tony Marwah, Mr. Manoj Kumar Matta, Mr. Sejoe Jose, and Mr. Rishi Kapoor. Representing the Allied category are Mr. P. Vijayasarthy, Mr. Ashok Dhoot, and Mr. Wasim Shaikh.
The incoming leadership team received a strong endorsement from the IATO membership, signalling widespread support for their proposed vision for the future of Indian tourism.
In his first address as President, Mr. Gosain emphasised unity, innovation, and inclusive governance as core priorities. His agenda includes revitalising inbound tourism through the adoption of cutting-edge technology, supporting small and medium-sized tour operators, and driving advocacy for favourable financial and policy measures.
He also outlined plans for enhanced digital training for members, increased engagement with state tourism boards, and the formation of a special task force to coordinate with government bodies and international tourism organisations. Among his top priorities are simplified visa procedures, better airport infrastructure, and greater investment in global promotional campaigns.
Sustainability, digital innovation, and immersive travel experiences form the cornerstone of Gosain’s strategic roadmap. He has pledged to support members in adopting eco-friendly practices and tapping into emerging markets, while also paying tribute to the contributions of outgoing President Mr. Rajiv Mehra.
With a strong mandate and a focused vision, Mr. Gosain and his team aim to shape a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready Indian tourism industry.
