Sarovar Hotels Expands South Asia Portfolio with the Opening of Nepal’s First Royal Tulip in Kathmandu

Sarovar Hotels, a prominent Indian hotel management company, has expanded its presence in South Asia with the inauguration of Royal Tulip Kathmandu. This new property marks the debut of the Royal Tulip brand in Nepal and is set to be the country’s largest hotel and the city’s most extensive venue for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
Developed by The Massif Hotel Pvt. Ltd., the hotel introduces the upscale Royal Tulip brand to Nepal’s capital, blending international luxury with local Nepalese culture. As part of the Louvre Hotels Group’s premium portfolio, Royal Tulip is known for its elegant design, top-tier amenities, and high standards of service.
Key Features of Royal Tulip Kathmandu
Located on Ring Road, only 3.5 km from Tribhuvan International Airport, Royal Tulip Kathmandu boasts an impressive 308 rooms and suites, making it the largest hotel in Nepal by room count. The hotel is designed to serve both business and leisure travelers with modern, comfortable accommodations.
The property significantly enhances Kathmandu’s MICE infrastructure by offering the city’s largest convention center, spanning over 30,000 sq. ft. of event space. This includes two large banquet halls of 11,000 sq. ft. each, along with various meeting and breakout rooms. This facility is poised to become a premier destination for international conferences, corporate events, exhibitions, and destination weddings.
Initially, the hotel will operate with 104 rooms and two unique dining venues. Lalitpur Café is a bright and welcoming all-day restaurant, while The Alpine Lounge & Bar offers a sophisticated space to unwind with handcrafted cocktails, live music, and a chic atmosphere.
