Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hosts “Royal Flavours of Murshidabad” Food Festival

May 21, 2025May 27, 2025

The Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway is currently transporting diners on a unique culinary journey to the royal kitchens of Murshidabad. Its vibrant all-day dining restaurant, Feast, is hosting a ten-day Murshidabad Food Festival, a tribute to a rich and layered cuisine influenced by Persian, Mughal, and traditional Bengali culinary traditions.

This exciting collaboration brings together Chef Mujeeb Ur Rehman and Executive Chef Sajid to meticulously recreate the essence of this “lost” royal cuisine. Chef Rehman, deeply rooted in culinary history and known for his passion for storytelling through food, draws upon a remarkable family legacy; his great-grandfather once served in the Royal Kitchen of Awadh. Today, Chef Rehman is celebrated for reviving India’s royal culinary past, translating ancient traditions into unforgettable dining experiences. Together with Chef Sajid, he brings this expertise to Feast, crafting a festival that delves into culture and history as much as it does into food.

Guests can indulge in a range of exquisite dishes, including Murshidabadi Murgh Rezala, a delicate white curry fragrant with saffron and kewra, and Gosht Pulao paired with rich khoya-stuffed koftas. Another highlight is the Nawabi Shammi Kebabs, infused with warm spices and expertly finished on a griddle. The dessert selection is equally decadent, featuring traditional sweets like Sheer Khurma, Khubani halwa, and Aam Gulati, among others.

With its inviting ambiance and cultural depth, Feast provides the perfect setting for this immersive dining experience, celebrating the elegance, artistry, and opulence of Murshidabad’s culinary heritage. This festival is more than just a meal; it’s an invitation to step back in time and savor the rich tapestry of flavors that once defined royalty.
