Ms. Sikha Surendran IAS has been appointed as the new Managing director of Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. She took charge on June 1, 2023, at KTDC headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram from Ms. V. Vigneshwari IAS, who is transferred and posted as the new district collector of Kottayam.
Ms. Sikha, a 2018 batch Kerala cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Service has started her career as the Assistant collector trainee in Kottayam and then served as the Sub Collector of Ottapalam in Palakkad and Kollam. Before this appointment, she was the District Development Commissioner of Thrissur.
Ms. Sikha studied at St. Paul’s Junior School and Kadayiruppu Government Higher Secondary School for her primary classes, while completing her plus 2 education at St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Kolenchery. Malayalam was her favorite subject. She wanted to do a degree in Malayalam, but Shikha put it aside. Shikha chose B.Tech in civil engineering at Mar Athanasius College in Kothamangalam. Shikha chose Malayalam as her main subject in civil service and she stood 16th at the all-India level when the civil services examination results were out on 28th April 2018.
Ms. Sikha Surendran, a native of Kavanakudy near Kolenchery in Ernakulam district, is the daughter of the late Mr. Surendran Vadayampadi and Mrs. Silo. She got married to Mr. Anoop and the couple have a daughter named Saanvi Shankari.
