Somatheeram Ayurveda Group Launches Soma Seven Springs Plantation Resort in Munnar

Somatheeram Ayurveda Group, today inaugurated Soma Seven Springs Plantation Resort at Letchmi Estate, Munnar, adding a new luxury nature retreat to the group’s growing portfolio and to Kerala’s high-altitude hospitality offerings.

Set amidst 100 acres of tea, coffee and aromatic cardamom plantations in the serene Letchmi Estate, along the elevated ridge leading towards Mankulam, the resort is built around the idea of a quiet retreat away from the pace of everyday life. Surrounded by misty hills, Shola forests, rivers and waterfalls, the property offers guided plantation walks and is considered an ideal destination for birdwatching and herpetology, with around 50 species of birds recorded on the estate, including the Indian Paradise Flycatcher, Malabar Whistling Thrush and Black Eagle.

The resort features 26 rooms across a range of categories, including a Luxury Tree House set amidst the Shola forests and an A-frame cottage by the pool, alongside Deluxe Hill View, Deluxe Garden View and Nalukettu accommodation options. Guests can also enjoy a swimming pool, modern in-room amenities, a dedicated concierge and guest services team, and a dining experience built around authentic regional flavours.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Baby Mathew, Chairman and Managing Director, Somatheeram Ayurveda Group, said the opening of Soma Seven Springs reflects the group’s belief in luxury deeply rooted in nature, bringing together modern comfort with the peace and tranquillity of Munnar’s high-altitude landscape. He added that the resort opens up a lesser-travelled side of Munnar for guests, offering a space to slow down, reconnect with nature and create lasting memories amidst the plantations, forests and mountain air of Letchmi Estate.

Mr. Mathew, who founded Somatheeram in 1995 as the world’s first Ayurvedic hospital housed within a resort, has been a pioneering figure in positioning Kerala’s Ayurveda and wellness offerings on the global stage. With Soma Seven Springs, the group extends its presence beyond its Ayurveda and wellness roots into plantation and nature-based luxury tourism, further strengthening Munnar’s standing as one of Kerala’s premier hill destinations.

The Grand Opening of Soma Seven Springs Plantation Resort took place today, 22 August 2026, at Letchmi Estate, Munnar.
