Calling all weekend warriors from the IT capital and Garden city of India to the land of serendipity. Sri Lankan Airlines is soaring into action with a brand new daytime flight from Bangalore to Colombo, making Sri Lanka the perfect destination for a quick escape.
The national carrier of the island nation is scheduled to launch a new daytime flight between Bangalore and Colombo starting 31 October 2024, bringing the total weekly operations between the two cities to 10 flights. The new flight timings are ideal for both Indian holidaymakers and business event attendees travelling to Sri Lanka for short weekend escapes.
This newly introduced service is designed for the discerning traveller and will conveniently operate every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, offering travellers more flexibility and maximizing their time in paradise, to offer a more flexible travel experience for Bengalureans jetting out to Sri Lanka, whether for a vacation or a workstation. It provides more daytime hours on the island while being conveniently scheduled closer to the weekend.
Flight UL 1174 will depart from Bangalore to Colombo at 09:40 AM every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, arriving in Colombo at 11:10 AM. The corresponding return flight, UL 1173, will leave Colombo at 07:20 AM and reach Bangalore at 08:40 AM, also every Thursday through Saturday.
This schedule allows every traveller from Bangalore to arrive in Sri Lanka refreshed and ready to explore, with ample daytime hours to pack their itinerary with exciting experiences. Whether they are seeking sun-drenched beaches, ancient cultural sites, or a serene escape in the hills, Sri Lanka offers a diverse playground for all interests.
The seamless schedule is not the only reason that makes Sri Lankan Airlines a great choice for Indians. Travellers who are members of the airline’s frequent flyer program, FlySmiLes, can earn 1,174 miles and 1,173 miles when they travel on UL 1174 and UL 1173, respectively. Customers can also savour mouthwatering Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine while enjoying the warmth and friendliness that embody the essence of Sri Lanka when travelling aboard Sri Lankan Airlines.
This new addition complements the airline’s existing daily service between Bangalore and Colombo, further strengthening its network. With nine Indian cities served including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai, Trichy, and Madurai), Sri Lankan Airlines operates nearly 90 weekly flights between India and Sri Lanka.
