Tamil Nadu Hosts Social Media Influencers to Showcase its Vibrant Destinations

In a dynamic new initiative, Tamil Nadu Tourism is hosting a select group of social media influencers from India and Europe to capture and share the unique beauty, vibrant culture, and diverse landscapes. The campaign, aimed at showcasing Tamil Nadu’s tourism potential, features popular travel bloggers and influencers with a vast following, including Ms Anais Noizat (The Life of Ananas) from Europe, who has 202k followers on TikTok and 30k on Instagram; Kolkata-based influencers Ms Antara and Amrapal Bagaria, who together command an audience of 175k; and several other Indian influencers like Ms Gopika Unnikrishnan from Kerala with 105k followers, Mr Shaikh Hassan Khan from Kerala with 88k, and Ms Mohammad Haris N from Mangalore, Karnataka, with an impressive 485k following. Additionally, influencers from Mumbai, Goa, and other parts of India are joining this initiative, each with substantial fan bases that collectively reach millions.

The 10-day journey, which is named “Discover Tamil Nadu – Influencers on Wheel”,  was officially launched on October 25, 2024, by Dr. Chandra Mohan B., I.A.S., Principal Secretary to the Government, Tourism, Culture, and Religious Endowments Department, and Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), along with Mr. C. Samayamoorthy, I.A.S., Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of TTDC. They flagged off the expedition from Island Grounds in Chennai, setting the stage for a comprehensive exploration of Tamil Nadu’s natural and cultural treasures.

From heritage sites to scenic landscapes, each influencer will capture their journey through Tamil Nadu, giving followers worldwide a glimpse into the state’s offerings. With diverse experiences planned—from ancient temples to lively festivals, from serene mountain trails to bustling cityscapes—the influencers are set to uncover Tamil Nadu’s multifaceted identity, offering unique insights into its rich history, tradition, and hospitality.

“Tamil Nadu is calling, and these influencers are answering with a journey like no other,” remarked Dr. Mohan at the event. “We’re eager to see Tamil Nadu’s stories reach new audiences, inspiring travellers to explore our state’s unmatched beauty and rich cultural heritage.”

According to Mr. Samayamoorthy, Commissioner of Tourism, “With every step, the influencers aim to convey Tamil Nadu as more than just a travel destination; it’s an experience. Visitors can explore ancient heritage, wander through misty hill stations, dive into urban adventures, and relax on serene beaches while experiencing the warmth and hospitality Tamil Nadu is known for. As they immerse themselves in Tamil Nadu’s unique blend of tradition and modernity, these influencers will deliver stories and hidden gems bound to captivate and inspire wanderlust in their followers.

Whether seeking cultural immersion, nature escapes, or urban adventures, Tamil Nadu has it all. This campaign invites travellers everywhere to experience the magic of “Timeless Tamil Nadu”—a journey that promises unforgettable memories and lasting connections.
