Tamil Nadu to Host Global Tourism Summit 2026 at Mahabalipuram on February 2 & 3

Tamil Nadu is poised to reinforce its position as one of India’s most dynamic tourism and investment destinations with the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026, scheduled for February 2 and 3, 2026, at Four Points by Sheraton, Mahabalipuram near Chennai.

Official Launch Marks Strategic Milestone

The summit was officially announced with the joint unveiling of the event logo and launch of the official Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit website by R. Rajendran, Minister for Tourism, and T.R.B. Rajaa, Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu. The launch represents a significant milestone in the State’s strategic roadmap to transform Tamil Nadu into a globally competitive tourism and investment hub.

The launch event was attended by senior government officials, including DR. K. Manivasan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments Department and Chairman of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC); V. Arun Roy, IAS, Secretary to Government, Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department; P. Shankar, IAS, Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department; and J. Innocent Divya, IAS, Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of TTDC, along with other senior officials.

The Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026, themed “Explore. Evolve. Elevate.”, aims to convene investors, developers, policymakers, and industry decision-makers to explore scalable and sustainable tourism opportunities across the State.

“The future of tourism belongs to those who design experiences, not itineraries,” the summit vision declares, highlighting Tamil Nadu’s strategic shift towards experience-driven, innovation-led tourism development.

The summit will concentrate on investment-ready tourism projects, new growth pathways, and partnerships across key segments including heritage tourism, coastal and cruise tourism, wellness and medical tourism, adventure tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and integrated destination development.
