The inaugural Fly & Ride Cycle Event 2025 Cross Border Cycling Adventure: India, Malaysia & Thailand Edition, a groundbreaking cross-border cycling expedition, concluded with resounding success on May 23, 2025. Organized by Dayasakti Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd and Tourism Malaysia Chennai, and supported by Just Buy Cycles, the event brought together 30 passionate cyclists from South India for an exhilarating 200-kilometer journey through the picturesque landscapes of Malaysia and Thailand.

Held under the banner of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY 2026), the event was spearheaded by Mr. Hishamuddin Mustafa, Director of Tourism Malaysia Chennai (South India & Sri Lanka), and Dato’ Chandran Suppiah, Director of Dayasakti Travel & Tours. Participants experienced a seamless fusion of adventure, culture, and camaraderie, forging new connections while traversing stunning locales.

The cycling odyssey began with a 20 kilometer heritage ride in Penang, allowing cyclists to explore the city’s rich cultural landmarks before a ferry ride to the mainland. The journey then continued into Thailand, with scenic coastal rides in Dannok, Songkhla, and Hatyai, where participants were met with warm local hospitality. A highlight of the event was the cross-border ride from Hatyai to Padang Besar, showcasing the seamless integration of tourism efforts between the two nations as cyclists pedaled into Arau, Kangar, before continuing by train to Ipoh. The expedition culminated with captivating city rides through Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur, a visit to the iconic Batu Caves, and a memorable cultural dinner at Saloma Bistro set against the backdrop of the majestic KLCC Twin Towers.

The success of this ambitious event was a testament to the collaborative spirit of its key partners. Penang Global Tourism hosted a delightful lunch and coordinated the Penang leg, while KTM Berhad provided picturesque train rides from Butterworth to Ipoh, adding a unique dimension to the journey. Amazing Thailand extended crucial support for the Thai segment, ensuring a smooth cross-border experience. Furthermore, Transvel provided essential bicycle transport and mechanical support, emphasizing the event’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly travel.

Dato’ Chandran Suppiah remarked, “The Fly & Ride Cycle Event 2025 was not just a cycling adventure but a celebration of friendship, culture, and active living. The enthusiasm of the participants was truly inspiring.” Mr. Hishamuddin Mustafa added, “This event beautifully showcased Malaysia’s appeal as a cycling and eco-tourism destination while fostering international cooperation. It’s a significant milestone as we prepare for Visit Malaysia Year 2026. This is the first time a Fly & Ride package tour to Malaysia has ever been organised, promoting the beautiful scenery of Malaysia to avid cyclists from India.”

Participants universally lauded the event as a unique and unforgettable experience, seamlessly blending the thrill of cycling with the joy of cultural exploration.
