Kodaikanal also serves as a popular summer vacation spot in the Western Ghats referred to as the Princess of Hill Stations, 121 km from Madurai. Trekking in Kodai Hills is an enchanting experience for trek lovers, youngsters, and students alike.

While in the State, Kalakkadu Wildlife Sanctuary would also be a good choice for trekkers for that thrilling experience. 56 km from Tirunelveli, the Sanctuary was developed as a National Tiger Reserve in the year 1988. There are 24 identified natural trails that spread over the reserve. One needs permission from the Forest Department to trek here.

Coming away from the hills and towards the beach, there is Mudaliyarkuppam, 96 km from Chennai. Here, the weekends and holidays witness hundreds of locals and tourists indulging in enthralling activities like spending some time in a tent on the sand at the beach, playing beach volleyball, children’s ride-on banana boats with legs dangling outside, enjoying a ride on a water scooter, kayaking, canoe ride, water ski, pedal boats, rowboats, balloon sailing, parasailing, and windsurfing are some of the options for the visitors to choose from.
