Air India has introduced its freshly acquired Boeing 777 aircraft on all its non-stop routes between Mumbai and the United States. This enhancement now encompasses New York JFK Airport, Newark Liberty Airport (New Jersey), and San Francisco, marking a significant upgrade for all North American cities served by Air India from Mumbai. Passengers on these routes will enjoy the comfort of modern-generation seats and state-of-the-art inflight entertainment systems in all classes.
Moreover, Air India announced that one of its two daily flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow (AI130/AI131) will use the new Boeing 777 aircraft. This introduction brings modern-generation interiors to this route and introduces First Class cabins for an enhanced travel experience.
The B777-200LR aircraft serving San Francisco and New York-JFK offers 28 Business Class, 48 Premium Economy, and 212 Economy Class seats. On the other hand, the B777-300ER aircraft serving Newark Liberty and London Heathrow provides 8 First Class, 40 Business Class, and 280 Economy Class seats.
Campbell Wilson, the Managing Director & CEO of Air India, expressed his delight, saying, “We are pleased to offer an upgraded experience on all routes between Mumbai and the United States, as well as the introduction of First Class on one of our London services. This is a part of the ongoing transformation of our services at Air India, with 7 new B777s in the past year and 4 more to follow, along with 6 new Airbus A350s in the coming months. These aircraft feature improved interiors, setting the stage for a comprehensive interior upgrade of our entire widebody fleet starting in mid-2024.”
