Air India has partnered with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Delhi International Airport (DIAL) to enhance the travel experience for international passengers. This collaboration introduces a new check-in and baggage drop facility at two key metro stations in Delhi—New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium.
The Delhi Airport Check-in & Baggage Drop service allows international passengers to check in their luggage at these metro stations. This convenient option enables travellers to explore the city without the burden of their baggage, which will be securely transported to the aircraft via an advanced automated system created by DMRC and DIAL.
Previously available only for domestic flights, this service will now be extended to international journeys. It will operate daily from 0700 hrs to 2100 hrs. Passengers can check in their baggage between 12 hours and 2 hours before departure for domestic flights and between 4 hours and 2 hours before departure for international flights.
“Our partnership with DMRC and DIAL demonstrates our commitment to providing an enhanced and seamless travel experience. This initiative offers a cost-effective solution for travellers from distant locations and helps reduce congestion at the airport, leading to a better experience for all our customers. Along with other technological advancements like DigiYatra and Self-Baggage Drop machines at airport terminals, this initiative will significantly improve the convenience and satisfaction of our customers,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India.
The metro service runs every 10 minutes, taking just 19 minutes to reach the departure level at Delhi Airport Terminal 3, ensuring a fast and hassle-free journey for travellers.
