Air India has appointed Mr. Jayaraj Shanmugam as the Head of Global Airport Operations, effective April 15th, 2024. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, Capt. Klaus Goersch, Shanmugam brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
Before joining Air India, Shanmugam served as the Chief Operating Officer at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the operational launch of the new Terminal 2. With over 25 years of experience in the airline, airport, and telecom sectors, he has held key positions at prestigious organizations such as Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Jet Airways.
In welcoming Shanmugam to the team, Capt. Goersch highlighted his exceptional track record in enhancing customer experience and optimizing airport operations. He expressed confidence in Shanmugam’s leadership, emphasizing the anticipated positive impact on Air India’s airport operations and the ongoing Vihaan.AI transformation journey.
