Among the notable appointments is Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, who has been entrusted with the crucial responsibilities of Culture, Tourism, and the Religious Trusts and Endowments departments, holding the position of Minister of State with Independent charge.
A seasoned politician and a familiar face in Madhya Pradesh’s political landscape, Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, an MLA from Jabera assembly constituency, boasts an educational background rooted in the region. Born in the village of Nohta in Jabera tehsil, he received his primary and secondary education locally. Completing his B.Sc in Mathematics and MA in Hindi education from Government PG College, Damoh, he further enhanced his skills with a PGDCA education from Times College and a B.Ed from Ojasvi College, Damoh.
Having commenced his political journey with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Dharmendra Singh Lodhi secured victory in the 2018 election from the Jabera Assembly. His dedication and association with the Sangh led to his re-election in 2023, earning him the position of Minister of State with Independent charge in Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s cabinet.
Minister Dharmendra Lodhi has outlined ambitious plans for promoting tourism and facilitating religious pilgrimages. In a significant announcement, he declared that the state government, post the consecration of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, will provide free air travel for pilgrims visiting Ayodhya. This initiative aligns with the broader Teerth Darshan scheme, aimed at enabling devotees to explore religious sites across the country.
In his statement, Minister Dharmendra Lodhi emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the pilgrimage experience, particularly for elderly citizens. The upcoming budget session in February holds promises of a special allocation for the Ram Van Gaman Path, showcasing the government’s dedication to this cultural and religious endeavor.
As Minister Dharmendra Lodhi takes charge of the Culture and Tourism departments, Madhya Pradesh anticipates a renewed focus on cultural heritage, pilgrimage promotion, and the overall development of its tourism sector.
