The Gokulam Park Ernakulam has emerged as the winner of the 16th edition of the Shoot The Rain monsoon football tournament, which is organized by the Tourism Professional Club Kochi, by defeating The Raviz Hotels & Resorts Kozhikode in a thrilling final match at Maharajas College ground on July 23, 2023.
Gokulam Park defeated the Raviz Hotels & Resorts, Kozhikode by the margin of 3-2. The Gokulam team has a remarkable comeback by scoring two spectacular goals in the second half after trailing by 1-2 at the half time to lift the Dominic Joseph Memorial Rolling trophy. With this win, the Gokulam group has once again proved their supremacy in Indian football, especially in Kerala. The men and women teams of Gokulam Football Club are the current champions of the Indian Super League Championship and Kerala Club football championship. The winning streak of the Gokulam Park Ernakulam was a birthday gift to their group Chairman Mr. Gokulam Gopalan on his birthday on July 23rd. Mr. Shazil led the winning team, while Mr. Atul was the Captain of the Runners up. Mr. Yadukumar and Bibin Paul scored for Gokulam Park and Mr. Siyad and Nabeel scored for Raviz.
In a rain-soaked show, Raviz Hotels & Resorts triumphed over the TPC team with a decisive 2-1 victory, earning them the coveted spot as the first finalist in STR 2023. While in an electrifying soccer showdown, Gokulam Park emerged as victorious against Somatheeram by Dr Polly Mathew, Chowara in Trivandrum in a fiercely contested match with a final scoreline of 2-1.
Dr. Venu V. IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Kerala graced the occasion. Mr. U. Sharaf Ali the Football Legend and the President of Kerala Sports Council was the Chief Guest at the concluding session and distributed the prizes to winners and runners-up.
Mr. Baby Mathew Somatheeram, President, KTM Society, Mr. Pradeep Jose, Secretary, KTM Society, Mr. James Kodianthara, President, Kerala chapter of IATO and Mr. Abraham George, Managing Director, Intersight Tours Kochi, and Mr. Riyaz U. C., Managing Director, Spice Land Holidays were present on the occasion.
According to Mr. Shilendra, Vice President of CGH Earth Hotels, doing something new is difficult. To sustain it is even more difficult. But to take it a notch up is near to impossible. And that’s what you proved with this year’s ” Shoot the Rain”. This is a partnership event and it happens at a time when we need it the most. According to an industry insider, With the way STR-16 was executed, TPC has shown that the event has immense potential to not just become a great sporting event but also an amazing entertainment and business networking platform and a property that can be a big asset to Kerala Tourism. The Tourism Professional Club office bearers, Executive Members and the entire organising team has proved STR is an integral part of the tourism industry in Kerala.

Island, CGH Spice Village Thekkady, CGH 8th Bastion Fort Kochi, Leela Raviz Kovalam, CGH Coconut Lagoon Kumarakom, CGH Brunton Boat Yard Fort Kochi, Crown Plaza, Ernakulam, The Grace International Coco Kerala, Grand Hyatt Ernakulam, Fragrant Nature Fort Kochi, Touracle Ernakulam, The Raviz Calicut, The Marriot Hotel, Ernakulam, The Ramada by Windham Alleppey, Somatheeram Ayurveda Trivandrum, Airlines Team Ernakulam, Kumarakom Lake Resort Kumarakom, Wayanad Destination Makers, Abad Hotels, Courtyard and Port Muziris by Mariot, The Zuri Kumarakom Kerala Resort, and Spa, Tourism Professionals Club, etc.
The Shoot The Rain 2023 has also witnessed two exhibition matches between the management committee members of the Kerala Travel Mart Society and the Tourism Professional Club. In the second match, TPC played a friendly match against visiting Gujarat Tour Operators team.
