IHCL LAUNCHES TAJ COCHIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has launched Taj Cochin International Airport, a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary design. The hotel was inaugurated by Mr Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala on December 28, 2024, at Kochi in the presence of Mr P. Rajeev, Minister for Industries, Government of Kerala, Mr Suhas. S IAS, Managing Director, Cochin International Airport Limited, and Ms. Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – New Businesses, Hotel Openings and Corporate Communications of IHCL

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO, of IHCL, said, “Having pioneered tourism in Kerala, IHCL is delighted to introduce Taj Cochin International Airport, strengthening our presence in the state. Developed in partnership with CIAL, this hotel expands our portfolio to 19 hotels in Kerala with 3 in the pipeline, reflective of our commitment to enhancing Kerala’s travel landscape.”

He added, “Cochin’s growing economic significance has firmly established it as one of the key cities in Southern India. This new opening in the city’s emerging micro-market grows our footprint while also offering easy access to the region’s popular leisure destinations.”

The 111-key Taj Cochin International Airport seamlessly integrates contemporary design with Kerala’s artistic heritage, reflecting the city’s vibrant spirit. Guests can indulge in a culinary journey at the all-day diner, Vista and Nonya, offering Pan – Asian flavours. The hotel features IHCL’s holistic wellness brand J Wellness Circle, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a swimming pool. With a banquet space of over 5,000 sq. ft., this hotel is ideal for hosting social and corporate events.
