IndiGo airline has launched direct flights between Mumbai and Ayodhya, effective January 15, 2024. The introduction of daily direct flights aims to enhance accessibility and ensure smoother travel between India’s financial capital and the renowned temple town in Uttar Pradesh.
IndiGo made history as the first airline to commence flights from the newly inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya on December 30, 2023. Since then, the airline has been operating regular commercial flights connecting Delhi and Ahmedabad to Ayodhya.
Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed delight at the commencement of direct flights between Mumbai and Ayodhya, stating, “We are pleased to launch direct flights between Mumbai and Ayodhya. This marks our third major city (after Delhi and Ahmedabad) connected to Ayodhya within weeks of the airport’s inauguration. With our extensive 6E network, customers now have multiple options to reach Ayodhya from both domestic and international destinations. As India’s leading carrier, we remain committed to providing our customers with seamless connectivity across the country and delivering affordable, punctual, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences.”
Ayodhya holds immense religious, historical, and cultural significance in India as the sacred birthplace of Lord Rama. It has been a center of devotion for centuries, attracting pilgrims and tourists from around the world to its renowned ancient temples, ghats, and sacred sites. Among these landmarks, the upcoming Ram Mandir holds a prominent place.
