Kerala to Host Inaugural International Ayurveda & Wellness Conclave in Kozhikode

Landmark event scheduled for the first week of February 2026 aims to position Kerala as global hub for traditional wellness tourism
The Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, has entrusted the Ayurveda Promotion Society (APS) Kerala with organizing the state’s first International Ayurveda & Wellness Conclave, scheduled to take place in Kozhikode in February 2026.
The groundbreaking event promises to bring together key stakeholders from India and abroad to strengthen Kerala’s position as a world leader in Ayurveda, wellness tourism, and medical value travel.
Ambitious Vision for Global Leadership

The conclave has been designed with several core objectives in mind. According to organizers, the event will highlight the scientific relevance and global significance of Ayurveda while positioning Kerala as the premier destination for authentic wellness experiences. The state’s established leadership in medical value travel, wellness tourism, and yoga-based retreats will take center stage.
This conclave will be the last official event in the tourism sector for the present government in Kerala, and Kerala Tourism Minister Adv. P.A. Mohammed Riyaz, who hails from Kozhikode, sees this as a golden opportunity to conclude his five-year term at the helm of affairs. Minister Riyaz envisions that North Kerala, the cradle of Ayurveda tradition in India since the early 12th century, is the ideal location to hold an International Ayurveda and wellness conclave.
“We are confident this conclave will be a game changer for the Ayurveda and Wellness Tourism sector for the country, especially for Kerala,” said Mr. Sajeev Kurup, President of the Ayurveda Promotion Society (APS).
Unprecedented Industry Participation
The conclave expects to facilitate extensive business-to-business networking among approximately 200 Kerala-based sellers, 200 Indian and international travel agents and tour operators, 50 yoga operators, and 50 international and domestic bloggers and media representatives. Organizers anticipate hosting around 300 buyers and visitors in total.
Mr. Kurup revealed that significant international interest has already been confirmed. “We have already confirmed 40 leading Ayurveda and Wellness Operators from various parts of Europe and UK as buyers to the inaugural Ayurveda & Wellness conclave, and we are expecting another 100 leading operators as buyers and travel writers and vloggers to Kerala.”
Major Ayurveda institutions including Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, Thykkat Moosse, Sreedhareeyam and Sanjeevanam Ayurveda are expected to participate as exhibitors and sellers, alongside numerous prominent Ayurveda and wellness resorts and centers from across the state.
Comprehensive Programme Schedule
The four-day main event will be followed by familiarization tours across Kerala:
Sunday, February 1, 2026: Arrival of buyers and delegates, with hotel check-in in Kozhikode
Monday, February 2, 2026: Inaugural ceremony and seminars, with lunch and dinner at Thula, Kozhikode. The opening ceremony will be held at the Calicut International Convention Centre
Tuesday, February 3, 2026: Exhibition and B2B meetings at The Raviz Kadavu Resort in Kozhikode
Wednesday, February 4, 2026 onwards: Familiarization tours for international delegates across various Kerala locations, including property visits, culminating in a final session on February 12, 2026, in Kovalam, the prime beach destination of God’s Own Country
Call for Industry Participation
The Ayurveda Promotion Society has issued a warm invitation to professionals from the Ayurveda, Yoga, and Wellness sectors to join the Organizing Committee for this prestigious event. Stakeholders from across these industries are encouraged to participate and contribute to making the conclave a landmark success.
“We seek the support and participation of all stakeholders from the Ayurveda and wellness sectors to ensure this event is a grand success,” Mr. Sajeev stated on behalf of the organizers.
The conclave represents a significant milestone in Kerala’s efforts to consolidate its reputation as a premier destination for authentic Ayurveda experiences and wellness tourism, combining the state’s rich traditional knowledge with modern hospitality infrastructure.
