North Malabar Travel Bazaar in October

Mr. A.N. Shamseer, Honourable Speaker of Kerala assembly has officially launched the logo of the North Malabar Tourism Organization (NOMTO) which was formed under the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of comprehensive tourism development of North Malabar including Kannur and Kasaragod, on July 23, 2023, at NMCC hall in Kannur,

Mr. T.K. Ramesh Kumar, President of the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce presided over the function. Mr. Kadannappally Ramachandran MLA and Mrs. P.P. Divya, Kannur District Panchayat President were the chief guests of the function. Mr. Anil Kumar, Honorary Secretary of the Chamber welcomed the gathering, and Mr. Prashant Vasudev, Chief Tourism Consultant of NOMTO and former Deputy Director of Kerala Tourism Department presented the topic.

The logo of NOMTO symbolizes the essence and spirit of North Malabar’s captivating tourism potential, During the logo launch function, the President announced that NOMTO has decided to organize the North Malabar Travel Bazaar (NMTB) on October 17 and 18, 2023 at Krishna Beach Resort, Kannur.

Mr. Ramesh Kumar President of the North Malabar Tourism Organization, said that NOMTO is an independent body to promote and develop the tourism potential of the exquisite North Malabar region. It’s a joint initiative of the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce and the tourism stakeholders in North Malabar, which has a two-fold objective, Improve the quality of Tourism products, Tourism and Hospitality services in North Malabar and Market the tourism potentials of the North Malabar region through all possible means.

According to Mr. Prashanth Vasudev, Chief Tourism Consultant of NOMTO, North Malabar Travel Bazar (NMTB) aims the tourism promotion of North Malabar and the event has two major components, B to B meet on Oct 17th and B to C on October 18, 2023. It’s basically a buyer-seller meet and buyers are tour operators from across the country and sellers are tourism service providers from Kannur and Kasaragod districts. We are planning to allot a few stalls from other neighbouring destinations in Kerala and Karnataka. On the 17th, the buyers will visit the stalls and will have business discussions with the sellers. On the 18th, the public will be allowed to visit the stalls. This is an excellent opportunity for the locals as well as the people from other states living in North Malabar as part of their employment to know about the hotels, resorts, houseboats, etc. in North Malabar.

The association has unanimously selected Mr. T.K. Ramesh Kumar, (President), Mr. T.V. Madhu Kumar,(Vice President), Mr. C. Anilkumar, (Secretary), Mr. P. Mukundan, (Joint Secretary), Mr. E.K. Ajith Kumar, (Treasurer) and Mr. Prasanth Vasudev,(Chief Tourism Consultant) as its new office bearers for next two years. and Mr. P.P. Mukundan, Joint Secretary proposed a vote of thanks.
