Sinulog Festival is one of the magnificent and vibrant festivals in the Philippines. This annual festival with a very rich history infuses both culture and religion. The festival takes place in Cebu City, the tourist town of Philippines.
The festival celebrates the acceptance of Catholicism by locals as well as the triumph of Christianity over secular religions that the country previously upheld. The festival also features a contest where attendants can take part in the various categories which are grouped into three, the Sinulog Base group, The Free Interpretation group, and the Street Dancing group. The nine days festival marks its climax with the Sinulog Grand Parade, which is perhaps the most elaborate part of the Sinulog Festival, and a favourite of many visitors.
