The Department of Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu has invited the application for the 2nd edition of prestigious Tamil Nadu State Tourism Awards for the year 2023, to celebrate and honour the outstanding achievements, leadership, and innovation within the state’s vibrant tourism industry.
The State Tourism Awards, will be presented to various stakeholders in the industry during the World Tourism Day celebrations which will be hosted on September 27 at Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Tourism has instituted the award with 17 major categories and 48 awards, to honour the major contributors who have played a significant role in promoting and developing tourism in Tamil Nadu. From tour operators to airlines, accommodation units to restaurants, and guides to travel influencers, we acknowledge their unwavering dedication and efforts. The Tamil Nadu Tourism Awards inspire healthy competition, breed creative ideas for improvement, and showcase the collective commitment of the industry to making Tamil Nadu an extraordinary destination.
The Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, in 2021-22, announced that the Awards will be conferred on various tourism stakeholders to recognise their contribution to developing Tamil Nadu Tourism sector.
The inaugural edition of these prestigious awards took place on 27th September 2022, coinciding with World Tourism Day, at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai. A total of 48 awardees were recognised for their exceptional efforts and achievements in the field. These awards serve as a platform to recognise vital contributions of individuals across various fields of the tourism sector such as tour operations, airlines, accommodation units, restaurants, tourist guides, and other tourism enterprises that play a significant role in promoting and enhancing tourism in the state. By appreciating the best performers in different verticals, the awards foster healthy competition and inspire innovative ideas for continuous advancements in the industry.
