Travel was marked as an engine of social, economic, and cultural change during the colonial period. Travelling somewhere whether it represents a medium kind of escape from society or the workplace, or an ideological expression of political freedom, evokes a myriad of interpretations and constructions of freedom.
Many aspects of tourism symbolize the expression of human beings’ desire for freedom and to explore new experiences. In this age of globalization, international tourism evokes notions of freedom with a range of individual choices and social status. The freedoms we consider including free time and the freedom to travel are part and parcel of a society that is more ordered and regulated. Freedom to Travel means the right to travel and it is equally important to travellers as individuals, to the communities they visit, to the world, and to the shared humanity.
Through Travel we can test all the assumptions that underlie our fears, will get a chance to make new conclusions, and evolve our thinking. Travel helps us to press the edges of our perceived limitations so that we may re-imagine them and continue to reach beyond and then countries are no longer just shapes on a map or hotspots on the news but instead are places filled with memories and stories.
Travel can cultivate our independence while revealing our greater interdependence. Whether it is solo travel, with family, or in a group, travel flexes the “get out there” independence muscle. At the same time, the experience of travel always reminds us that we need one another to get there and to enable those personal victories. Travel can serve as a remarkable platform for cultural pride and self-esteem.
The advanced technology makes everyone capable to access and freedom to do business across oceans. Now prosperity is crossing borders into new lands by creating new jobs each day and even we have a chance to become mobile in our business.
This is a milestone year of India’s journey as an Independent nation. To mark the 75 years of India’s Independence, the Government of India has organized Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the 75- week grand celebration that focuses on spreading awareness about the rich history, diverse population, magnificent culture, and great achievements of India.
Independence celebration also flashes the right to travel fully and freely. Let us enjoy and experience the freedom of travel as responsible Travellers.
