Vivek Shukla has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group. The group was founded by the late Lalit Suri, Vivek Shukla Helms CEO of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group renowned Indian entrepreneur and hotelier.
The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group is one of India’s leading privately held domestic hotel brands, operating and managing hotels, palaces, and resorts with a concentration on the luxury category.
The Group currently runs 12 luxury hotels, palaces, and resorts under The LaLiT brand and two midmarket category hotels under The LaLiT Traveller brand across India’s important business and leisure travel locations, totaling 2261 keys.
Vivek Shukla began his path with a good educational foundation. He attended St. Aloysius High School for his education and a three-year diploma from Mumbai’s Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology, and Applied Nutrition.
Vivek Shukla began his career in the hospitality business, where he gained experience in a variety of hotel management responsibilities. To gain a well-rounded view of the business, he may have worked in operations, sales, marketing, or finance.
Mr. Shukla has more than 31 years of expertise in the luxury hotel industry, including 18 years with The Lalit Group. In April 2005, he joined The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group as the Resident Manager of the InterContinental The Grand New Delhi (now The LaLiT New Delhi), and in 2007, he was promoted to General Manager.
Mr. Shukla is in charge of product enhancement, driving important projects, and overseeing the brand’s overall commercial performance. He has been a prominent member of the company’s Strategic Management Committee, which formulates strategies and overseas operations, business, and corporate affairs.
He formerly served as the company’s Vice President of Operations, where he oversaw the Group’s Operations, Corporate Affairs, and Governance. Mr. Shukla has successfully steered the company’s culture, vision, and values by energising people to provide exceptional service and operational excellence. By accepting, mainstreaming, and skilling different teams, he has established a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. During the COVID, he also led the teams in opening hotel doors to doctors and distributing meals and supplies to the marginalised and underprivileged.
Before joining The LaLiT, he worked in various positions and places across India for Hyatt International, Marriott International, East India Hotels Ltd., and Indian Hotels Company Ltd.
He displayed outstanding leadership abilities, a strategic vision, and the capacity to drive business growth, resulting in additional responsibilities and promotions.
The LaLiT New Delhi has garnered over 60 honours under his creative leadership, including the renowned Hall of Fame – National Tourism Award from the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India.
