Spanning an impressive 12 minutes, the largest-ever countdown fireworks display was intricately themed around the cycling seasons, leaving both locals and visitors in awe of its magnificent splendor.
The holiday season drew a multitude of visitors from across the globe, with a remarkable influx of over 223,000 visitors recorded in Hong Kong on New Year’s Eve (December 31), surpassing the daily visitor arrival record set in 2023.
The countdown ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and his spouse, alongside Mr. Kevin Yeung, Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Dr. Pang Yiu-kai, HKTB Chairman, who jointly officiated the celebratory countdown.
Making a notable return after four years, the German cruise liner AIDAbella revisited Hong Kong, bringing with it over 2,000 visitors from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Bulgaria, and other markets. These international guests had the unique opportunity to partake in Hong Kong’s countdown festivities and were treated to an up-close view of the spectacular fireworks display on board, experiencing firsthand the grandeur and magnificence of the performance.
