JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, part of Marriott International, hosted the ‘Run to Give’ charity run in Bengaluru on September 22, 2019. JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru and other Marriott International hotels across 23 countries and territories concurrently in the Asia Pacific joined hands for this fund-raising initiative. Ever since the event inaugurated in 2014, ‘Run to Give’ has become an integral part of the company’s tradition in cultivating a people-first environment that promotes associate well-being and drives its people to care for the communities where they do business.
Marriott International’s 13 hotels in Bengaluru took part to raise funds for Marriott Home, one of the pioneering efforts of Rising Star Outreach of India in support of Leprosy Victims. The run saw participation from over 650 enthusiastic associates and this landmark event was flagged off by famous tennis player Rohan Bopanna, Woman Olympian & Arjuna Awardee Reeth Abraham and veteran footballer Sunil Chhetri and International Athlete Sonali Swamy and fitness expert Wanitha Ashok.
Commenting on the successful Run to Give 2019, Ranju Alex, Market Vice President, South India & Sri Lanka, Marriott International said, “Although the rain gods made their presence felt, our spirit to come together as ONE made this year’s run a big success. The run was flagged off at 07:00 am and finished at JW Lawns which covered a radius of 5km around the plush Cubbon Park. The event was followed by an elaborate open-air breakfast with fun eggs live station, dosa live station, music and a buffet of healthy breakfast.
